the first time i saw this video, i almost cried in sheer agony and disgust. it is by far the worst song to ever exist. after listening to it over and over, however, i have decided it is to be my new friday theme song. i can dance around the house whining (in my nasal voice), "it's friday, friday, gotta get down on friday, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun..." even better than this song, however, is conan's remix. please enjoy.

day 208
finalllllllllly! courtney got a job! and it only took a year and a half. yes, i am now officially a substitute teacher. not my life's calling by any means, but i do have a bachelor's degree, i did pass the CBEST exam, and i do have a substitute credential. all i have been waiting for is a school district to teach with. thank you san juan for providing blake and me with an income. i've got to admit, i'm kind of nervous, but i think it'll be easier the more i do it. now, will i ever be as cool as holly holiday? only time will tell...

i can't even begin to express how excited i am for braden and his mission call to billings, montana! he is going to do so well there! he has such an amazing and charismatic personality and will be such a great example to the people of montana. i can't wait to hear stories about the weather, food, people, and how the church is growing in montana. i love you braden!!!!!

my goal in life is to complete everything on my bucket list. considering i have some crazy things on there, i may not get it all done by the time my life ends, but i'm all about trying. so, the two goals i begin working on today (and for the next semester) are ballet and guitar. i know, has anyone ever pictured me as a ballerina? i didn't think so. guitar, maybe, but not ballet. but i've ALWAYS wanted to learn, so i signed up and start classes today at cosumnes river college and i am SOOOOO excited!!! i just love how elegant and graceful ballerinas are and want to try it out. and guitar... i can never say enough about guitar. i'd love to learn something beyond "twinkle twinkle little star," but i'd even settle for that as a beginner. more updates on my artistic endeavors to come...

so, i've decided to start running again. and i'm EXCITED!!! i did very little running in 2010, mostly due to my laziness, so i'm ready to get into it again. i found this amazing group called SacFit to run with and we'll be training for the parkway half marathon which happens on april 30. can't wait!

don't you just feel like this is gonna be such an awesome year!? well, i do. and what better way to start it off than with our friends the rice's. heather and jake were so kind as to invite us to stay with them for new year's eve and day. they even made us dinner. my favourite part of the trip though was watching "america's test kitchen" on new year's day for seven straight hours. i'm not kidding. it inspired me to cook good food again.

the best christmas present i could ever ask for came 5 days late this year. it arrived on december 30th and came in the form of a final paycheck. hallelujah! i no longer work for the gap. although i only worked there two and a half months, it felt like two and a half centuries. two and a half centuries of dealing with snooty new yorkers, old ladies who talk to you on the phone for almost an hour about their daughter who was cheated on by her husband but got a boob job to console herself, rude people screaming at me on the phone because i can't make the fedex truck go any faster to deliver their package, and so on.
that being said, i'd like to publicly thank the gap for the amazing 50% off discount they gave me. blake and i now own some very cute clothes.
